Freedom fuels me. Making miniatures gives me freedom to create whatever I like and I encourage others to do the same. My work makes me happy for many reasons, it’s so varied I never get bored. It’s everything from building this website, deciding on new ranges, communicating with you guys, working out design  processes, actually making  my items and so much more.

Apple Macintosh founder Steve Jobs said “People say you have to be passionate about what you do because if you don’t any rational person would give up”. I agree. Sometimes I think I must be crazy.  Miniaturists work is time intensive but every piece I create is very personal and I hope it brings little  happiness to you. I’s may way of  proving, especially to creatives that we can do it our way – so it’s worth it.

Making

Mass production is very expensive so most of my items are hand made.  Luckily I have a wide skill set which enables me to embrace new technologies and materials in my creative processes. Where possible I am gradually redesigning for my 3D printer. The initial design work for each piece   is still very time consuming  and all must be hand painted or finished but the upside is greater accuracy, consistency, strength and unless otherwise stated it’s designed by me so it’s still Exclusive to Miaim.
